Gardenia Yellow is a natural pigment derived from the fruits of Gardenia jasminoides,a plant native to Asia (member of the Rubiaceae family), widely used as a food additive, cosmetic ingredient, and even in traditional medicine. Its primary color components are carotenoid & crocin, as well there is also crocetin. The gardenia yellow pigment is usually the yellow liquid or orange yellow to reddish powder with strong stability and ability to withstand high temperatures. It can easily dissolve in water and ethanol, but insoluble in acetone and grease.
